KAMP - Rooftop Penthouse Overlooking Duval

This unit is on the 4th floor(top level) of the Historic "Kress" Building, centrally located on Duval St with a very rare rooftop view. There is a very interesting history to the Kress building as well as the penthouse itself, which is named "Kamp" and was built on top of the roof in the late 1970s). The living space is large and open and completely unique. There were heat indexes of 105 when we visited but the A/C inside the place kept up nicely. Would highly recommend, especially for couples traveling together as we were.

Rarely do I leave bad reviews as I am in the same industry. But when you spend $1000 a night, you expect certain things to work properly. Less than half of the doors and windows in this place lock. You would think no big deal because it’s a secure location, except that we had people wandering around our deck videotaping. The doors that do lock, in order for the lock to be secure. You have to leave them cracked a half inch which lets tons of hot air in. The AC in the master bedroom does not keep up at all, and there are no extra blankets or pillow pillows so I ended up sleeping on the couch with a curtain over me one night because it was the only cool place in the apartment. The main reason we booked, this was for the rooftop features, however, for some crazy reason, there is no shade or umbrellas on the entire roof, which means it is completely unusable in the summer heat and sun. Be warned. Also, because the doors don’t shut, the street noise is almost unbearable until 2am.

We loved our stay! The unit was so spacious, comfortable, and modern while still Key West charm. All the rooms were large and had amazing views of the town. The wrap around porches allowed beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The management was so friendly, responsive and helpful. This place is a true gem that we look forward to staying in again.

The place over Duvall street was even better than expected! Bright, open, and with a huge amount of private outdoor deck space. Our group had an awesome time in Key West with this place as our home base. Right in the center of everything! The Brightwild team was great and responsive. We always had the info we needed.
